1 Year...Do you know what today is....it's my lockaversary!!!

Hey all, I'm sooooo excited! As you can tell by the title of this post I've reached my 1 year mark...YAY!!!! I'm officially in my 2nd year of locking. You know in my last post I said that I'd seen changes and that you wouldn't be able to see them on camera. Well to put it simply, I lied! I didn't mean to though...lol. I didn't realize the changes were so noticeable until I saw the pictures for myself. I am so in love with my Sisterlocks and look forward to seeing what the next year brings. I've put together some comparison shots Day 1 vs 6 Months vs 1 Year. I'm sure you'll enjoy them as I have...hehehe.

  5. Hi Sereni-T,

Congratulations on your anniversary! Your locks look really healthy and your hair has a nice shine to it. Are you using any products?

  6. Thanks Natural High! To answer your question my routine is very simple. I still braid and band when I shampoo and I rinse extremely extremely well to prevent any kind of build up. When I shampoo I usually stay in the shower until the hot water runs out which is about 30-45 min, most of this is spent rinsing. Oh I also dilute my shampoo 50% water.

The only thing I do use on my scalp, and this is only because of the cold weather and itchy scalp issues, is a mixture of jojoba oil, vitamin e oil, and some tangerine eo for scent. Smells yummy! I've been using jojoba oil since I was a loose natural becuase its light and absorbs into the skin well, so I really love it.

That's pretty much all I do aside for spritzing with filtered water sometimes and jumping in to the shower and just letting the water run through my hair.

You know what I just realized? My main source of moisture is water. :o) Works wonders!

  7. Oh one last thing I forgot that I have a filter on my shower head that I got from the health food store. Hope all that helps!

Maybe I should make a post about my routine...lol.

  8. Yes a post would be nice!! ...lol...because they really look healthy. I am almost there with you! I have a water softener because of my eczema and it works wonders for my skin and my hair too. I have jojoba oil and havent really used it. I will give it a whirl since my scalp has been dry lately. Thanks for your response!!

  9. All that worrying for nothing your hair looks wonderful Your consultant deserves an apology You bashed her work on this blog yet love your hair. She's my consultant too and does wonderful work is extremely patient and caring.

  10. How do you know who my consultant is? I've never mentioned her name on my blog.....hmmmmm someone I know maybe? Anywho, I will agree that I was too anxious in the beginning and worried about the small stuff way too much. But I've admitted that I have issues on this blog and I'm definitely a work in progress. I'll never admit to being right all the time. I think "bash" is a harsh word but really its just semantics right? I agree that she is a wonderful consultant, but we did have some issues at the beginning that I discussed with her and we worked them out.

Thank you for your comment I wish it wouldn't have been anonymous so I would know who you are.
