Week 3

Let's see what have I experienced so far. Well first there was just awe at how it all turned out. Halfway through the initial installation I was a little fearful of how it would look. But once my consultant was done I was estatic because 1) She was FINALLY done :) and 2) I had finally taken the plunge into a new journey with my natural hair. I had contemplated locks for at least half of my 6 years natural but was held back at first because I was in the army and next because I was still enjoying my loose natural hair.

The next step after awe was acceptance, you know that I had actually taken the step and had over 500 locks installed on this big ole head of mine. I kept looking at it everyday saying to myself "I can't believe I finally did it". It took the first two weeks for me to just settle into what I had just done. Now I don't want this to sound negative in anyway, because its not. Even though I had wanted to have locks for a while it just didn't seem real at first. Sometimes I want something so bad but something in the back of my mind messes with me and tells me that I won't follow through. Well my sisterlocks was one of the many things that I did to prove that little voice wrong.

Now I'm looking forward to celebrating the finish of month 1 in a couple of days. I know a month is not very long but I'm still celebrating it as if it were a year...lol. The last time I attempted to lock my hair I took a trunk full of pictures, I'm going to try to resist this time. I found that alot of them looked alike during those five months that I'd had them in. I'm sure at first I'll take alot but after awhile I'm sure I'll taper off. Hopefully, I'll have other interesting things besides my hair to blog about.

Here are a few pictures that I've taken over the past couple of weeks.

Irritated!! Grrrrrrrr!!

Someone please help me. Blogger keeps deleting my links for other peoples albums. What am I doing wrong. I'm very new to this and would appreciate the assistance of some of the more experienced ladies. Do I need to do something special when I change the template? Help?!

Okay my computer is up and running...Tagged!!!

Okay so I got my laptop up and running my desktop is on its last leg so now I'm ready to keep up with my blog more regularly. So here we go:

1.Link to the person that tagged you..... HI http://fuchsia-soul.blogspot.com/
(Sorry I don't know how to link yet) :o(

2.Post the rules on your blog

3.Share 6 non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself that have not been shared already

6 non-important things about Sereni-T

1. I was just hypnotized for the first time on Tuesday night. It's a series of three group sessions for weight loss, so I figured what the hay...

2. I was in the U.S. Army for 6 yrs and feel it was one of the best decisions I ever made. It opened alot of doors for me, got me into my current career field, and gave me a chance to meet some very very cool people.

3. I'm really a very sensitive person. Most people don't realize it because I hide just how sensitive I am. :o)

4. When I was 13 I was in a drillteam call the "Marching Cobras" and got to travel to Nice, France for Mardi Gras (too much fun by the way) and to D.C. to perform inside the Rose Garden (very cool experience).

5. I'm a very forgetful person and have a really short attention span when people talk to me. I try to pay attention but my mind just drifts without warning.

6. I LOVE SHOES!!! I have WAY too many pairs :oD

I don't have very many people to tag but here it goes:

I've been tagged!!!

This is pretty cool, I didn't think it would happen this early. Makes me feel like part of the family...lol. Unfortunately I'll have to come back to post, my computer is on the fritz at home and I can't stay on too long at work so bear with me. I just bought a laptop and will be playing with it on Tue so I'll post then and hopefully have some other people to tag. Maybe give me more time to come up with some interesting things about myself. Ciao....

12-21-08 My Babies Birthday

Here are the pics of my new babies!!! I'm excited to see how they'll turn out in the end. I started out with about 12in of natural hair. My consultant was a angel it took her 23hrs over a 2 day period to complete 511 locks.

Pre-Sisterlock

These are just a few pictures taken a couple of weeks before I got my sisterlocks installed. My main style was two strand twists. They were easy to do and lasted a couple of weeks. Which was a perfect style because at this time I work two jobs and spending alot of time on my hair is not an option

New to blogging

Ok, so I decided to be like many of my sisterlocked compadres and start a blog about my journey. This just my first post until I get the hang of it all. I'd like to ask for patience as I'm starting out, so if I don't answer a comment or question its not because I don't want to it may be because I haven't figured out how...lol. Anywho, let the blogging begin...
